K-12 Dyslexia Services


The Watson Chapel School District (WCSD) includes processes of support to students with difficulties of acquiring and processing language with dyslexic tendencies through Dyslexia services.   The Dyslexia Program serves the students, teachers and K-12 students at all WCSD campuses.  Specialists at WCSD work with teachers and administrators collaboratively to support students who show characteristics of Dyslexia in multiple ways.  Please find below many resources that explain the WCSD assessment process, progress monitoring process, intervention and learning opportunities, resources, technology options and much more.

Dyslexia Report for 2020-2021 

  • Dyslexia Program
    During the 2020-2021 school year, Watson Chapel Public School District used evidenced-based dyslexia interventions in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.  The program used was Take Flight | A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. Additionally, interventions are outlined in the RTI document linked below. 

Response to Intervention Policy

  • Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention
    During the 2020-2021 school year, 30 students attending Watson Chapel School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist. 

  • Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia During the 2020-2021 school year,  34 students attending Watson Chapel Public School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
